ABOUT ME
I am a German-Ukrainian artist, born in Kyiv in 1991 and based near Kassel, Germany. After one year of academic artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Ukraine, I continued my education as a self-taught artist under the mentorship of international artists and curators. Since 2020, I have been working professionally as an artist alongside my part-time work as a physician.

ABOUT MY ART
My work is drawing inspiration from Mark Rothko’s belief in art as a space for spiritual experience. Moving beyond the non-individuality in abstract aesthetics of the 1960s, I embrace a figurative approach that reintroduces personal narrative, sincerity and human connection as a reflection of metamodern sensibility. My paintings often depict the sea — not just as subject, but as symbol. It stands in contrast to the fast-paced, algorithm-driven reality of contemporary life, simulating instead the presence of nature intended to evoke its calming psychological effects — offering a visual space that soothes, centers, and reconnects us to something elemental and shared beyond different cultures.
I work slowly with oil paint—a deliberate counterbalance to the rapid processes of the digital age. What may initially appear abstract resolves into realistic seascapes through the gradual addition of fine details and textures. The layering, the abundance of lines, and the attention to subtle shifts are meant to hold the viewer’s gaze, encouraging long observation as a meditative act. I see my art not as a quick visual experience, but as an invitation to slow down and reconnect with the emotional and spiritual self.
