I see the water surface as a kind of entrance to a parallel reality: we as humans are living outside the water, but underneath the surface is a whole world, so different from ours. In this world I often observe how nature thrives and overcomes remnants of human activity.
“Thriving” depicts coral growth on this kind of a human-made structure. The work reflects the resilience and transformative power of nature, as well as the transience of human technology and notions of progress.
